George Flynn Classical Concert Series - Tokyo String Quartet with pianist, Mihae Lee

For the third program of its 15th season, The George Flynn Classical Concerts series is proud to present the acclaimed Tokyo String Quartet with pianist, Mihae Lee. After 43 seasons, the Tokyo String Quartet has announced that 2012-2013 will be their last. Regarded as one of the supreme chamber ensembles of the world, the Tokyo Quartet performs over one hundred concerts worldwide each season and has a devoted international following across the globe. The members of the Tokyo String Quartet have served on the faculty of the Yale School of Music as quartet-in-residence since 1976. They perform on the "Paganini Quartet", a group of renowned Stradivarius instruments named for legendary virtuoso Niccolò Paganini, who acquired and played them during the 19th century.


Korean-born pianist Mihae Lee has captivated audiences throughout North America, Europe, and Asia in solo recitals and chamber music concerts, performing in such venues as Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center, Warsaw National Philharmonic Hall and Taipei National Hall. Ms. Lee is also the artistic director of the Essex Winter Series in Connecticut.
