On October 17, the U.S. General Services Administration is holding a public hearing on its Draft Environmental Impact Statement for the sale of Plum Island.
In the DEIS, GSA recommends selling the island without requiring any conservation of the mostly undeveloped island. A sale without conservation puts the island at risk of future development.
