Administrative Structure Will Change At Joel School

The Clinton Board of Education decided at its June 6 meeting to restructure the administration at the Joel School. There will no longer be co-principals.

At its meeting on June 6, following the acceptance of the resignation of Jack Gedney as Co-Principal from the Joel Elementary School, the Clinton Board of Education unanimously agreed to restructure the administration at that school. After a discussion with Superintendent of Schools Jack Cross, it was decided that Co-Principal Claudia Norman would remain as Principal and an Assistant Principal would be hired. There will no longer be co-principals. The $9,000 to $10,000 that will be saved by the restructure has been applied toward the $419,772 budget reduction from the 2011-2012 School Budget. The vacancy was posted for the new Assistant Principal on June 10, and the person is expected to be appointed at the July 18 Board of Education meeting following a month-long search.
