Tuesday Update: Metro North Delays, Schools Closed

Metro North Experiencing 30 Minute Delays From New Haven To Stamford - And The Return

Schools are closed today in Clinton because of the storm.

Metro North is experiencing 30 minutes delays from New Haven to Stamford, both ways, due to problems with an overhead electrical line. The issue should be resolved by late morning. There are no reported delays or problems for the Shoreline East commute which includes Clinton and Madison.

Troop F reports bad road conditions in Clinton and Madison, but no accidents on I-95 or the off ramps.

According to WTNH News 8, a wintery mix is expected for Jan. 18, mostly for north and central areas of the state. It is a winter advisory for the shoreline.

The storm will be less severe on the shoreline compared to northern regions of the state. Some schools are closed in Seymour, Windsor Locks, and Simsbury, for example.

Tuesday morning, it will be snowing and very cold, with an expected couple inches of snow predicted. Later this morning, it could go above freezing when the snow turns to rain.

For central and northern Connecticut, very icy conditions are expected.
