Connecticut Water lead two hikes on its watershed properties in Killingworth and Tolland on June 5 as part of this year’s sponsorship of the Connecticut Forest & Park Association’s Connecticut Trails Day 2011.

In Killingworth, a 2.5 mile hike took place at the Killingworth and Kelseytown Reservoir includes some minor hill climbing on a scenic trail that crosses open fields, the Menunketesuck River footbridge, a pond and old woods roads.  The Killingworth and Kelseytown Reservoir hiking trail is also an approved Department of Public Health recreation program. The trail is opened only for hiking from the third Saturday in April through October 31.

“Connecticut Water is proud to be a part of Connecticut Trails Day and we hope that many of our customers and other Connecticut residents take the opportunity to enjoy the wide variety of events that are being sponsored throughout the state,” said Cindy Gaudino, Connecticut Water’s manager of Source Protection and Real Estate.
