Town Emergency Team to Residents & Others: Please Stay Away From Closed Roads, the Marina, etc.

"Let the town's Emergency Operations crew do their job," is the refrain this morning from the town's fire chief, chief of police, and director of public works.

Many people are out in their vehicles driving over flooded areas to take photos, and do not realize they are impeding the efforts of the town's Emergency Management Center crew and Department of Public Works crews.

"The Department of Public Work's crews have begun their task and we must send a police officer out to protect them," said Chief of Police Todd Lawrie.

If you don't have a legitimate reason to be on the beach roads or down at the marina, beach or anywhere else, please stay home, said the chief.

"Give the town crews time and space today to do their jobs," said Lawrie.

Director of Public Works Peter Neff said he and his crew are doing the best they can to get every road open and safe.

There is no schedule yet for debris curb-side cleanup.

Here's what Clinton residents and visitors need to know:

Please do not travel around town unless necessary.

As of Monday at around noon, 99 percent of Clinton residents are still without power.

All street lights are non-operational at this time.

Many businesses are closed such as Unilever, Clinton Crossing Premium Outlets, Petco Plaza.

The library is closed.

Shore Road is open to RESIDENTS ONLY.

The town beach is closed.

A schedule for curb-side cleanup is not yet available.

A decision is not yet available on whether schools will be open on Wednesday.

The following roads are closed:

Parts of Route 81 near Egypt Lane and Evergreen Mobile Home Park

Shore Road and Beach Park Road are open to residents only

Valley Road is closed

Iron Works is closed

Kelseytown Road by Jane's Lane is closed

Fairy Dell Road is closed

Valley Road is closed

Brickyard is closed

Pleasant Valley is closed

Airline Road is closed

Egypt Lane is closed

Stephens Lane is closed

Shore Grove Road is closed

Heritage Circle is closed
