Take Your Child to the Library Day

It's coming up on Saturday, Feb. 2 and is a time for kids to get a new library card, tour the building and participate in some fun activities.

The Henry Carter Hull Library invites families to the second annual Take Your Child to the Library Day on Saturday, February 2.

Between 10am and 4pm, a variety of activities will showcase the Children's Room's offerings to parents of children from infancy to tween-age.

Tour the library, get a card, and discover the many ways your public library enhances your child's development, learning and enjoyment. Spend time in the preschoolers' Learn & Playroom; take a look at the Every Child Ready To Read collection to support early literacy, or check out a backpack, graphic novel or Nutmeg Book.

Parents of children 2 1/2 will enjoy Fun With Rhythms, an educational drum circle designed to teach children the fundamentals of music while they play interactive rhythm games. The program begins promptly at 10am. The doors will open to attendees at 9:45am.

At 1:30pm, get ready to be amazed by Magician--and Principal of Westbrook High School--Bob Hale. "How does he do that?" is the question you'll be asking over and over! This program is prepared for school-aged children, Grades K-6 and their families.

Please register at www.hchlibrary.org for Fun With Rhythms and/or Magician Bob Hale.
