Shoreline East Adds To Friday Schedule

New Schedule Goes Into Effect Monday, June 27 - Plus 4th Of July Schedule Is Posted

A message from the Connecticut Department of Transportation:

The CT DOT has announced a new Shore Line East schedule that will go into effect on Monday June 27. 

The only change to the Shore Line East schedule is the addition of "Friday Only" special trains starting Friday, July 1, and running through Friday, September 2.

The "Friday Only" trains provide the following additional afternoon departures:

EASTBOUND (to Old Saybrook)

  • A train departs from New Haven's Union Station at 1:55 PM and State Street Station at 1:57 PM, stopping at Branford at 2:08 PM, Guilford at 2:16 PM, Madison at 2:22 PM, Clinton at 2:27 PM, Westbrook at 2:32 PM and arriving in Old Saybrook at 2:42 PM

WESTBOUND (to New Haven)

  • A train departs from Old Saybrook at 3:05 PM, stopping in Guilford at 3:18 PM and then traveling non-stop arriving at New Haven's State Street Station at 3:41 PM, and Union Station at 3:45 PM

SHORE LINE EAST TO OPERATE ON A WEEKEND & HOLIDAY SCHEDULE ON MONDAY, JULY 4TH

For the July 4th Holiday Weekend, Shore Line East trains will operate as follows:

FRIDAY, JULY 1st

Metro-North New Haven Line and CTTRANSIT will be operating on their Sunday schedules on Monday, July 4th.

The New Haven Commuter Connection shuttle buses and the Union Station shuttle will not be operating on Monday, July 4th.

Shore Line East will operate special "Sailfest 2011" trains to and from New London on Saturday, July 9th only.

"Sailfest 2011" is a Southeastern Connecticut three-day summertime event in New London with a major fireworks display, amusement rides, free entertainment, Tall Ship, and over 100 vendors lining the downtown streets.

Shore Line East will be providing a special trains to/from New London for "Sailfest 2011" as follows:

EASTBOUND (to New London)

  • A train departs from New Haven's Union Station at 5:05 PM and State Street Station at 5:07 PM, stopping at Branford at 5:18 PM, Guilford at 5:26 PM, Madison at 5:32 PM, Clinton at 5:37 PM, Westbrook at 5:42 PM, Old Saybrook at 5:48 PM, arriving in New London at 6:10 PM.  

WESTBOUND (to New Haven)

  • A train departs from New London at 11:00 PM, stopping at Old Saybrook at 11:23 PM, Westbrook at 11:28 PM, Clinton at 11:32 PM, Madison at 11:37 PM, Guilford at 11:42 PM, Branford at 11:51 PM, arriving at New Haven's State Street Station at 12:04 AM, and Union Station at 12:07 AM.
