Update: Five Local Water Filling Stations Set Up

Need Water? Connecticut Water Company Added 5 Water Filling Stations Around The Shoreline

A message from the Connecticut Water Company:

The CT Water Company recognizes how essential water is to life. During Irene and the power outages in its aftermath we have been able to maintain water service to more than 99 percent of our customers. However, we know that many people who have private wells have not had water for drinking, sanitation, bathing, etc. since the power went out.

The company and its employees are committed to serving the community and helping private well owners who don’t have access to clean, safe water. Connecticut Water is establishing four water filling stations that will be located in Guilford, Killingworth and Madison.

·        Connecticut Water Office (93 West Main St., Clinton)
·        Killingworth Commuter Lot near Rte 80/81 Traffic Circle
·        Guilford Fire Dept. Rte 77 (behind the Police Department)
·        North Guilford Fire Station
·        North Madison Fire Station near the traffic circle (New)
·        Essex Fire House on West Avenue (north side of the parking lot) (New)
·        Chester Meeting House near the intersection of Goosehill and Liberty Street (New)

The filling stations will be self-service.

People will need to bring their own containers and there will be no charge for the water.

Connecticut Water plans to have the tankers available until power is restored in these communities.
