Need A Hot Shower? Morgan School Opening At 1pm

An Update From The First Selectman

An update from the First Selectman's office:

We are getting closer to normalcy, as of this morning 75 percent of town was without power - which was better than 99.9 percent. Killingworth Turnpike and US 1 East of 145 have been restored.

Eight contractors are currently engaged in debris removal operations.

We are serving a pasta dinner tonight from 5pm to 8pm at Town Hall for those people in need. This is an offset to the food pantry which will not be open.

We are opening up the Morgan School at 1pm today (Wednesday) for those in need of showers. The facility will also have a water station. It will close at 8pm. This will open again on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Now that Stop and Shop as well as ShopRite have power, residents should be able to get food and gasoline.

We are working to get as much FEMA assistance as possible and will be taking calls from residents to report individual damage on Friday.

As we progress I will keep you informed.
