FAMILY BEST BETS OF THE WEEK
• Fireworks at Water’s Edge
Where/When: Water's Edge, Westbrook, Tuesday, July 5
Why Go: Water’s Edge puts on a spectacular show. Enjoy the day at the resort then stay for the fireworks. There is plenty of entertainment. Kids can jump on the inflatable bouncers and build sand castles. There are food and drink stands available as well.
Pricing: Admission is free. Tickets are sold for food, drinks and admittance to the inflatable bouncers.
• Host a Fourth of July Party at Brownstone!
Where/When: Brownstone Park, Portland, CT, July 2 - July 4
Why Go: Need to host a party last minute? Brownstone Park is offering special packages to parties of 10 or more. Each ticket includes entrance to the park and food. There are plenty of things for the kids to do and no clean up at home for mom!
Pricing: Tickets range from $31.95-$39.95 per person.
• Waterslides
Where/When: Stay & Play, Old Saybrook, Open 7 days a week, 9:30am - 5:00pm.
Why Go: Children can splash away on the inflatable waterslides at Stay & Play. Children over seven years of age are allowed in free when accompanying at least one child under seven! Call or check their website for specific details. www.stayandplayllc.com
Pricing: $8 per person
• 3D Fireworks
Where/When: Quassy Amusement Park, Middlebury, CT, July 4 at 10:15pm
Why Go: Purchase special viewing glasses for only $1 for the fireworks.
Pricing: Admission to the park for show is free. Rides, games and food are extra.
• Westbrook 12 Summer Series
Where/When: Westbrook Cinema, Tuesday, July 5 and Wednesday, July 6 at 9:30am
Why Go: Free Movies! Pick from Marmaduke or The Spy Next Door. Cold Alert-Don’t forget a little blanket for the kids. It gets cold in there!
Pricing: FREE! Candy, popcorn and soda are available for sale.
