FAMILY BEST BETS OF THE WEEK
• Bluefish Festival
Where/When: Behind the Town Hall in Clinton, Friday, June 22nd from 6pm-10pm and Saturday, June 23rd from noon-10pm
Why Go: Well, why not? Friday night bring the kids down to enjoy live music by the band Out of Thin Air. We LOVE this band! This year there will be an arcade truck, petting zoo, dunk tank, crafts and more. Saturday is the 3rd annual Little Miss Bluefish Pageant. Sign your little cuties up for this all natural pageant. After that, run over to the stage to watch Kidz Konnection perform a play about Beverly Clearly’s Ramona Quimby.
Pricing: Only $1/ per person entry fee this year!
• Shoreline Gametime
Where/When: Located in the shopping area at Water’s Edge in Westbrook.
Open : 7 days week from 12-8pm
Why Go: Rain or shine here is a fun place to go with the kiddos. There are arcade games ranging from Ms. Pac Man, skeeball, pool and ping pong to our new favorite, Deal or No Deal! You can spend hours or just a few minutes. Either way, its loads of fun! We went with two children and spent $10 total. Well worth it. There is even an adult area with couches, flat screen TV and Wi-Fi. Check it out!
Pricing: Games range from .25 to $1.00
• Hot Summer Fun at Mohegan Sun
Where/When: Every Wednesday at Mohegan Sun (Uncasville) 6pm-10pm.
Why Go: Experience an amazing display of fireworks every Wednesday as well as music produced by live bands and a DJ. Remember to bring your lawn chairs or a blanket to sit on.
Pricing: Admittance is free. Food is available from multiple vendors for a small fee.
• Haiku, Hip-Hop and Hotdogs
Where/When: Ivoryton Playhouse, Fridays at 11am
Why Go: Come down to the playhouse and watch puppets performing poetry.
Pricing: All tickets $12.00 available in advance or on the door on the day
• Westbrook 12 Summer Series
Where/When: Tuesday and Wednesday @ 9:30am
Why Go: Free Movies! Pick from Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs or Gulliver’s Travels. Cold Alert-Don’t forget a little blanket for the kids. It gets cold in there!
Pricing: FREE! Candy, popcorn and soda are available for sale.
