Empty Unilever Warehouse Collapses Under Heavy Snow

An unused warehouse on Route 145 is on the ground due to the weight of the snow.

The Director of Clinton's Department of Public Works has told Patch that an empty warehouse used by Unilever/Ponds on Route 145 has collapsed due to the snow.

There are no reports of any injuries associated with the structure going down.

The former warehouse is located off Route 145/Old Post Road in an industrial complex.  The address is reported to be 30 Old Post Road.

The building is not adjacent to or near the Unilever headquarters building in downtown Clinton on John Street.

Hi Fay. Heard the loud boom when Unilever building collapsed...instantly thought oh no ...here comes another unwanted skylite!!! Sorry for unilever but thrilled that nothing was suddenly remodeled or removed from our house! ! Tree off but sky blue view through bedroom ceiling is still a plastic tarp not signs of clear weather..hope all is well with you. Hoping for spring early....Marty Kaletsky

there goes another $25- 40,000 in town property taxes. Unilever will probably break even with the insurance as they could not rent or sell the place - Gee, I wonder why?
