As of 7:55 p.m., CL&P lists all 6,986 of its Clinton customers as without power. That's 100% of you in the dark!

The Jared Eliot Middle School on Fairy Dell Road is the town's Emergency Shelter as of noon on Monday, Oct. 29.   Not Andrews Memorial Town Hall.  If you go, please bring your medications, bedding, a book/magazine, and a cell phone. Food and water will be available. Pets are welcome but must be leashed, crated or caged. Please remember to bring your pet's food, food bowls and any medications.

At 5pm on Monday night, there were more than 60 folks at the emergency shelter.

All four Clinton Public Schools are closed on Monday, October 29 and Tuesday, October 30.

Residents in certain areas of Clinton are under a mandatory evacuation per the Emergency Response Team and Town of Clinton's orders.  Mandatory evacuation includes those who live in these areas: Cedar Island, Shore Road from number 64/65 east to Causeway, Causeway and Groveway east to number 29/22.

The Henry Carter Hull Library will be closed on Monday.  Weather conditions will determine if it will be open on Tuesday.  Stay tuned!

The 9-Town Transit system is closed on Monday, Oct. 29

Due to weather conditions, Shore Line East will be canceling train service on Monday, October 29th.  For more information, call 1-800-ALL-RIDE.

Governor Dannel P. Malloy on Monday ordered road closures for all state highways. The closures will be implemented in two phases.  At 11:00 A.M., trucks will be prohibited from operating on limited access highways.  At 1:00 P.M., state highways will be closed to all non-emergency related vehicles.

Governor Dannel P. Malloy on Monday morning ordered that all expiration dates and periods of validity for motor vehicle registrations, licenses, permits, certificates and other forms of credentials issued by or on behalf of the Department of Motor Vehicles be immediately extended until further notice due to the impact of Hurricane Sandy on Connecticut.

DMV has announced that all emissions testing has been halted statewide for the duration of the storm. http://ctemissions.com

CL&P outage report as of Monday, Oct. 29, at 10:40 a.m: East Hampton, 58 without power which is .95% of customers; Manchester, 244, .85%; Farmington, 45, .37%; Groton, 1,563, 19%; Stonington, 931, 11%; Ledyard, 129, 1%; Branford, 32, .2%

Other cancellations/closings:

Clinton Land Conservation Trust's Annual Meeting scheduled for 7 p.m. Mon., Oct. 29th at the Town Hall has been postponed. New date to be announced.

The Ivoryton Playhouse has cancelled the first two preview performances of The Kitchen Witches on Wed., Oct 31.

The in-person voter registration deadline in Connecticut has been extended from Tuesday, Oct. 30 to Thursday, November 1, at 8 p.m. for those who intend to vote in the upcoming election.
