Clinton Officials Impose Parking/Driving Ban

Goes Into Effect At Midnight Tonight

Straight out of his emergency response team meeting, First Selectman Willie Fritz informed Patch that the team is enforcing a parking and driving ban in town to prepare for Hurricane Irene.

The parking and driving ban begins tonight, Saturday at midnight and ends at 3pm on Sunday.

"This is to keep people safe and off the roads," said Fritz.

Andrews Memorial Town Hall will be open on Sunday to serve as an emergency shelter. The hours of its opening/closing will be announced soon.

For those residents who do not have a land line telephone, please call the police dispatch line at 860-669-0451 and provide them with an alternate phone number such as your cell phone. This will insure that you will receive any emergency-activated phone calls and notifications.
