Update: Power Restored To Remaining 410 CL&P Customers Without Power

Due to fallen limbs on wires, a transformer blew on Tuesday, Jan. 3.

Update Jan 4:  As of this morning, it appears that all Clinton CL&P customers who lost electricity yesterday have had their power restored.

Jan 3: On one of the coldest days of the year, more than 410 Clinton CL&P customers are without power.

There are a total of 6,986 CL&P customers in town.

Mitch Gross, spokesperson from CL&P could not be certain when power is to be restored saying his crews are in the area "working as quickly and safely as we can."

Earlier this afternoon, limbs on a tree on East Main Street fell on electrical wires causing the outage.  Gross said that most of East Main Street and a few surrounding streets are without power.
