Owner Chad Ealden opened the doors to the renovated center May 19. It's located in the former Gymnastics World on Knollwood Drive, the road across from the Ocean State Job Lot complex.

"Kids leave here tired and ready to go to bed," said Ealden. "Parents love it!"

There is a large and open space with giant bounce houses (think Barbie, Spiderman and Thomas the Train themes), an observation deck for parents with WIFI, a room designed just for toddlers, a video arcade for pre-teens and teens, and two private rooms for parties such as birthdays, graduation and other special events.

"Every party gets a dedicated party-planner," said Ealden. "There's nothing for mom and dad to do."

There's also beverages and light snacks available for purchase.

Ealden, who grew up in Old Saybrook and now lives in Hamden, has a five-year old son named Connor.

"He's my tester of all things fun," said Ealden.

Ealden opened the business after leaving the corporate world in order to spend more time with his son, who has cystic fibrosis, and give back to his community. He recently helped raise money for the Great Strides charity event.

Bounce! Fun Center is open every day except Monday from 10am to 6pm. As business grows, Ealden plans to extend the hours. The center is handicapped accessible and has sensory impulse training areas for children with special needs.
