How long have you lived in Clinton:  Actually we live in both Westbrook and Clinton ... our condo resides in both towns ... 12 years.

How long has Photografix been in business: 10 years.

How did Photografix get its name: Chris, who originally owned the store, came up with the name with most of it coming from his grandmother. Tim worked for Chris as long as he owned it and then we bought it from him in 2007.

History of the business: Because of Tim's photographic work and educational background taking over the business from Chris seemed the logical next step. Tim is a professionally published photographer as well as a photo technical whiz.

How many family members are in the business: There is only Tim and myself.

We do everything photographic and video including:
Printing from film and digital
Archival prints
Film..video..tape transfer to DVD
Slide and picture scanning to DVD
Photo restoration
Photo reproduction and enlargements
Giclee printing

Plus full photo studio for personal, family, business, art, professional, commercial photography. We also do weddings and event photography off-premise as well as architectural and commercial photography.

You name it...we probably do it.

What is in high demand these days: Film...8mm...super 6...tape...vhs...and pretty much all media video transfer to DVD...and...slide and print scanning as well as photo restoration. A lot of people are realizing the importance of preserving their memories, their history and also understanding that the format these memories are on are degrading physically which increases the long term chances of them losing the product.

What makes Photografix unique: We insist on producing quality work...we educate our customers in regards to their needs and also provide them with ways of improving what media they may be using presently. With the economic troubles in our country of the last few years we try to also show people what they can do and options for them that will save them money. We also try to help them prioritize what they should have worked on first so they can often times spread their needs over a period of time and ultimately preserve the memories they need to affordably. 

What do you like best about town: The overall friendliness of other small business owners and the loyalty of people from Clinton and the surrounding towns to the small businesses in the area.

What do you least like about town: Can't really think of a dislike.

Fondest memory of town: First visit to the Clinton Town Hall and getting a bit lost due to the odd staircase layout. Ended up having a great laugh about it and to this day chuckle whenever we drive by it or visit it.
