The Amazing Race: Unfinished Business

The fact that we are as excited as we are about the return of our favorite reality show is somewhat explained by the concept – the genius! concept – behind this season’s go-round: Awesome teams that totally crapped out their first time are given a second chance to win!! Yes!! The CowBros! The Globetrotters! Zev and Justin! The sisters who lost because she had to pee in China! And not so great to see back: the cheerleaders; the deaf kid and his mom. I wish they had brought back the Clowns – I loved those guys – and those brothers who were liberal and conservative.

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, 8 p.m., ABC

Terry Fator alert! Terry Fator alert! My beloved ventriloquist Terry Fator, winner of the second season of America’s Got Talent (and the only real winner so far) helps the gang build a new house for a soldier who was wounded in the Fort Hood shootings. Also that idiot Dane Cook, who does not deserve to shine Terry Fator’s shoes.

Wanda Sykes: I’ma Be Me, 10 p.m., Comedy Central

You either love Wanda or you hate her. I am a sometime-fan of her stand-up, but I adored her on The New Adventures of Old Christine, a show I still actively mourn. This is her stand up.
