Get Out: Five Great Things To Do This Weekend

Because It's No Fun To Stay Home All Weekend

You’re not really going to spend all weekend eating leftover , are you? With some great throwback music acts playing Foxwoods, the Home Show with more than 200 exhibitors at Connecticut College and all the St. Patty’s fun, you wouldn’t dare stay in. Check out our suggestions for this weekend and get out there already!

1. 

WHERE/WHEN: Production will run through April 3 at the Ivoryton Playhouse. The show will go on at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays, 7:30 p.m. Thursdays, 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and at 2 p.m. on Sundays.

WHY GO: Great Irish history and music all in one show? You bet!

PRICING: Tickets are $40 for adults, $35 for seniors, $20 for students and $15 for children.

2. ST. PATRICK’S DAY PARADES

WHERE/WHEN: is on Thursday at 3 p.m. and is Sunday at 1 p.m.

WHY GO: Drink some Guinness, wear some green—what could be better?

PRICING: Free.

3. 

WHERE/WHEN: Friday through Sunday at the Conn College Dayton Arena and Athletic Center. Open on Friday from 5 to 9 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

WHY GO: Stop by for some great ideas from over 200 exhibitors on sprucing up your home just in time for spring!

PRICING: Admission is $8 for adults, $6 for seniors and free for kids 12 and under. Free parking and shuttle service will be available from the Campus South lot.

4. 

WHERE/WHEN: Friday from 6 to 10 p.m. at Woodwinds in Branford.

WHY GO: Show your support for the no-kill cat shelter, Forgotten Felines, in Westbrook at this silent auction, dinner and wine tasting fundraiser.

PRICING: Tickets are $50 and must be purchased in advance. They’re available at Shoreline Wine Merchants in Guilford, Killingworth Animal Hospital and Shoreline Animal Hospital in Clinton.

5. 

WHERE/WHEN: Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Garde Arts Center in New London.

WHY GO: The group has toured internationally, bringing their traditional Irish music to the world stage. Sure sounds like a festive way to finish up St. Patrick’s weekend!

PRICING: Tickets range from $29 to $45.
