Get Out: Five Great Things To Do This Weekend

Because It's No Fun To Stay Home All Weekend

Memorial Day weekend is finally here, and we have all the fixings to make it great. Sorry, we’re not coming over to man the grill. And we’re definitely not braving your jam-packed attic to dig out your summer gear. But we are providing with you with five great events going on this weekend that we definitely don’t think you should miss.

1. 

WHERE/WHEN: Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Madison town green.

WHY GO: With more than 70 antique dealers scheduled to attend, you’re bound to find a treasure.

PRICING: Admission is $4. Early buying period is from 8 to 9 a.m. and costs $10.

2. DELANEY DASH

WHERE/WHEN: Saturday at 9 a.m. at Saybrook Point in Old Saybrook.

WHY GO: Getting some exercise will make you feel a little bit better about all those hamburgers and hot dogs you’ll soon be downing. There’s a race for kids, too!

PRICING: $20 on race day.

3. LYME-OLD LYME MEMORIAL DAY ANTIQUE CAR SHOW

WHERE/WHEN: Monday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Lyme Art Academy.

WHY GO: Get outside and check out some sweet rides!

PRICING: Admission is $5 for spectators and $10 for car registration.

4. 

WHERE/WHEN: Saturday through Monday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. under the Boat Shed.

WHY GO: Have you had lobster yet this year? Didn’t think so.

PRICING: Combo tickets, which include museum admission, are $39 for adults, $32 for kids and $37 for seniors. Single lobster dinner is $21, twin lobster dinner is $37 and twin hot dog dinner is $7. Proceeds support the Rotary Club of Mystic’s community projects.

5. 

WHERE/WHEN: Monday at 11 a.m. beginning at Post Office Square and heading to Liberty Green. There will be services at Beaver Brook Cemetery at 9 a.m., St. Mary’s Cemetery at 9:45 a.m. and at Indian River Cemetery at 10 a.m.

WHY GO: Come decked out in your finest red, white and blue!
