Last week was one of those plot-building episodes, in which we must be patient while groundwork is laid for upcoming episodes that promise to rip our hearts out and make us bawl like infants. Tonight, “Coach must mediate when tensions erupt in the locker room; the Lions welcome a new player; Buddy deals with the trials of fatherhood; Tami counsels a troubled student.”

Outrageous Food, 10 p.m., Food

“L.A.'s White Rabbit food truck serving up six-pound burritos; 22-ounce chicken fried steak served on a pizza platter.” First of all, a six-pound burrito to go is a lot to lug around. And second of all, I love chicken fried steak so much. I bet I could eat that. With the mashed potatoes and the white gravy.

Lake Monsters, 9 p.m., NatGeo

“Tracking the elusive Nile perch.” I love how fishermen always character fish as “elusive.” Like that perch is swimming around the Nile thinking of new places to hide and new ways to drive the fishermen crazy.
