HCH Presents "An Evening With Jim Mellow"

The Henry Carter Hull Library is pleased to present:  “An Evening with Jim Mellow” on Wednesday, April 11th at 6:30 pm in the library community room.

25 pieces of original art by Jim Mellow will be on display and there will be a reception, welcome remarks and readings from Jim’s works followed by discussion.

Jim Mellow, a 40 year resident of Clinton, was the 1983 National Book Award winner for his biography  Nathaniel Hawthorne in His Times.  Mellow also penned Charmed Circle: Gertrude Stein & Co. as well as biographies on Hemingway, Scott & Zelda Fitzgerald and depression era photographer Walker Evans.  In addition to his books, Jim Mellow was the editor of Arts Magazine and Industrial Design Magazine.  He was a feature writer for the New York Times Magazine, The New York Times Book Review, Art International,  Art Critic and Architectural Digest. 

Jim’s longtime partner Augie Capaccio will be our host for an evening of art and literature.
