The Clinton Art Society presents the recent art work of Killingworth artist, Maryanne Rupp, at the Liberty Bank, 8 Main Street,Clinton, for the months of January and Febuary.
Maryanne Rupp retired a few years ago as a Hospice nurse and now paints full time. Although working with both pastels and oils, she considers herself primarily a pastelist, enjoying the pure, intense color and spontaneity that is possible with that medium.
Recently, jurors have commented on her command and understanding of the pastel medium and her ability to convey the nuances of light and texture with sensitivity. She is able to achieve a sense of atmosphere and depth, whether in still life or landscape.
Maryanne is a member of the Connecticut Pastel Society, Lyme Art Association, Clinton Art Society, Mystic Art Center, and Madison Art Society where she serves on the Board of Directors.
Art work is open to the public free of charge and can be viewed during normal business hours.
