HCH Library Welcomes New Children's Librarian

When you have a chance, head on over to the Henry Carter Hull Library in Clinton to welcome new Children's Librarian Kara Gilbert.

It's been 27 years since the search for a new children's librarian at the Henry Carter Hull Library in Clinton was on the library board's list of things to do.

But with Children's Librarian and Assistant Director Lynn Hidek's retirement happening last week, a new member of the staff was welcomed to the HCH.

Kara Gilbert began her new duties on April 22.

"My rabbits and I have traveled all the way from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to be a part of your wonderful community!" said Gilbert.

Gilbert is, in her words, a "former-teacher-turned-librarian."

"I hope to provide a wide variety of programs, activities, and (of course) books that are fun and educational," she said. "I'm looking forward to this year's summer reading as we Dig into Reading."

Gilbert's rabbits, Willow (see photo attached to this article) and Oz will make sporadic special appearances in the newly-renovated Children's Room.

"Come on by the children's room and say "hi!"
