Harbor View Beach Association Bands Together to Help Pay for Sandy Damage

Harbor View Beach Association is having a wine and cheese fundraiser on August 16 to help pay for damages on the beach caused by regular wear and tear and Superstorm Sandy that struck last year.

Last year, Harbor View Beach Association was planning a wine and cheese fundraiser to help pay for beach damage. Unfortunately, the event was cancelled due to Superstorm Sandy, which caused even more damage. The event has now been rescheduled for August 16, from 6-7:30 at Zsa's boutique, 348 Main ST Clinton.

"Now in addition to trying to save our jetty, we were hit with replacement costs for fences, etc.," Cathy Weiss said in an email to Patch. "Harbor View Beach Association is coming together to strengthen our community."

Weiss was grateful to Zsa's boutique, a new business in Clinton, for jumping in to donate proceeds that day to the cause.

Tickets are $10, which includes wine, non- alcoholic beverages, and light refreshments. All of the wine and food is donated by Weiss and other HVA members.

HVA is a non-profit.
