Families Helping Families Looks Ahead to 2013

They have committed the funds to once again, continue to help Clinton families and kids in need.

A message from Families Helping Families, the non-profit, 501(c)3 organization in town that provides food, funds and so much more to Clinton families in need:

This check of $25,000 represents the amount of dollars Families Helping Families (FHF) will commit to assisting Clinton families in 2013.

Half of it, or $12,500, will fund our "Fresh Produce Program" at The Clinton Food Pantry.  FHF has formed a partnership with a wholesale produce distributor which allows us to buy at 20-25% below retail and have delivered on the very day food is given out at the pantry.  We also make sure the clients at The Clinton Food Pantry on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter have extra fruits and vegetables for their holiday tables.

And $12,500 will be used for our out-reach programs at Clinton Social Services:

We have an "Energy Assistance Program" which provides help for Clinton residents when other forms of assistance have been exhausted.

Our newest program, "Clinton Kids Initiative," seeks to help meet the needs of Clinton children on a quarterly basis.  In the last two quarters of 2012 we were able to provide backpacks for children going back to school and in December we provided over 1,300 diapers.

None what we do could be accomplished without the continuing generosity of all the different groups, businesses, and families in Clinton.  We are the trustees of their faith and resources that they have placed in us.  Without them there would be no FHF.

So going forth in 2013 we renew our pledge to continue to help Clinton families whenever and however we can.

-- Miner Vincent, President of Families Helping Families
