2nd Annual Connecticut Service Plazas Food Drive- at I-95 Branford Northbound Service Plaza

WPLR 99.1 FM and Connecticut Service Plazas will host their 2nd Annual Food Drive on Friday, November 15th, from 5:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. This year’s food drive will be at the Branford I-95 Northbound Service Plaza (between exits 53 and 54).

Non-perishable food items, frozen turkeys, as well as monetary donations will be collected at the Service Plaza and then given to The Connecticut Food Bank.

“We are honored that we are able to host this year’s food drive at our Service Plaza in Branford,” said Paul Landino, President and CEO of Project Service. “We have currently completed renovations on 11 Service Plazas. As more plazas begin to reopen we hope to continue to host more community events like this.”

Project Service LLC, which has a long-term contract with the state to renovate and operate the Service Plazas, recently, reopened the newly renovated Branford NB Service Plaza this past September. This plaza was the eleventh of 23 Connecticut highway Service Plazas to be completely renovated.

All 23 Service Plazas are open twenty-four hours a day. Each Service Plaza offers different food options; some of these options include Subway, McDonalds, and Dunkin’ Donuts. Each Service Plaza also features an Alltown Convenience Store and an ExxonMobil gas station. The plazas also have clean restrooms, free WiFi and backup power generators for use during power outages.
