2013 WALK for Vista Hits New Highs

Vista held its annual fundraising walk at Hammonasset Beach State Park on Sunday, October 27th. This year, participants were able to choose between the 3 or 5 mile routes. The enthusiasm around this year’s WALK for Vista was overwhelming! More than 250 people came out to support Vista and its mission of supporting the independence of adults with disabilities.

This year’s WALK for Vista raised over $40,000, a $5,000 increase over last year’s event! The monies raised at the WALK for Vista benefit the programs and services of Vista as well as the Ed Gallant Financial Aid fund. As a result of participant designations, over $25,000 of the funds raised will be designated to the Ed Gallant Financial Aid Fund to help provide need based scholarships to adults in the Vista program.

Vista’s community partners including Walgreens of Westbrook, 9 Town Transit, We Are the ONES Wellness and Coaching, and the Madison Ambulance Association came out and supported the WALK for Vista offering their expertise and giveaways to our walk participants.
