From All Over Clinton That You Need To Know About!

News, information, tips and cancellations are coming in faster than I can post, so here's a compilation of recent newsy items you need to know about!

As of Saturday afternoon, CL&P had 23 crews in town and expects to be at 85% by day’s end. Crews are still cleaning up brush and a major debris cleanup was done on Shore Road today.

All schools are powered up and school is opening on Tuesday, Sept. 6.

The Friday cookout was a success with well over 300 people attending. Thanks to ShopRite for donating the food and to superintendent Jack Cross and staff for all their hard work. The girls soccer team and football team were a great help.

The Morgan School and Town Hall will be open today, Sunday Sept. 4 from 12pm to 4pm for charging laptops and phones and for showers at the school. Please bring your own soap, shampoo and towels.

We have a new supply of MRE’s (instant meals) and water which are available at The Morgan School, town hall and the police department.

If you know anyone with a social service type issue, please contact the communications center at 860-669-0451. That person's name will be relayed to the first selectman's office.

Brush removal will not take place Sunday and Monday, but will resume first thing Tuesday morning and Wednesday. All roads in town are now open.

A representative from FEMA will be at Andrews Memorial Town Hall on Tuesday, Sept. 6 from 9am until 3pm and Thursday, Sept. 8 from 3pm to 7pm to receive applications and intake from residents' regarding damage to their properties. This is part of FEMA’s individual assistance program. Residents can call 860-664-1137 and speak to Susan George to get listed.

The First Selectman's Task Force has postponed their Sept. 7 meeting. A future date will be announced at a later time.

The Carousel fundraiser event for Zack Bernier Fund takes place Sunday, Sept. 4 at Lenny & Joe’s in Madison from noon until close.  All proceeds will go to the Zack Bernier Fund.  Also on next Sunday, Sept. 11, a Hair Cut-a-Thon at Station One Hair Salon in Clinton will take place from 11am to 3pm. Hands Down, the neighboring nail salon, will also be joining the event offering manicures for a $10 donation. Mini facials will also be offered for $10. Enjoy a mini spa day for a great price and an even better cause.
